First Time and this is who God has asked me to approach?

This is my first mission trip where I am approaching people that I do not know to share the gospel. I have been on mission trips where we constructed homes for deserving families but this is a different experience all together. I am in New York City for the first time and our group heads to Tompkins Square Park. After a quick prayer, we disperse throughout the park. I think to myself ‘ok I am going to ease myself in with this approach and find someone that looks relatable to me’. However, I feel pulled to a man sitting on a bench by himself, smoking and with a beer next to him, visible tattoos and no shirt on. I hear God say to me ‘talk to this man’. I sit next to him and start a conversation. Anthony is such a unique character, not from New York but passing through. I ask if I can pray with him for anything and he said nothing specific but do you know the Lords Prayer? I say I do and he begins as I come alongside him through this prayer I have spoke so many times but I feel it’s true meaning with my new friend Anthony. After we finished, he thanked me saying he really needed that and thank you for coming over to talk. I said I am glad I got to meet him and I would continue to pray for him. It was truly the first time I shared the gospel and prayed for someone who was a stranger just minutes ago. A wonderful interaction and hopeful one of many I will have in the future. I am hopeful that I am just one more step in Anthony’s journey to receiving Christ.
